How can we help you?

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of disability support programs do you offer?

We provide a comprehensive range of services designed to help participants with developmental disabilities reach their version of success. We offer support to clients with Vocation, Education and Independence goals. Our programs encourage community participation through skill-building lessons and goal work tailored to each participant.

Who is eligible to participate in CICS Services?

Our programs are open to participants 18 years and above. Clients should be able to walk up to a mile and have a high school diploma or Completion of Attendance.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. After a referral is received, families and participants are invited to attend an informational meeting at one of our program sites to learn more about CICS, meet staff and participants, and ask questions about our services.

If the meeting feels like a good fit, the participant will be scheduled for a trial or shadow day to experience the program firsthand. Following the trial day, our team will work with the participant’s support team and service coordinator to determine next steps, including authorization for services and placement availability.

Who would be a great fit for our program

The participants who are most successful at CICS are adults with developmental disabilities who are interested in building independence, community involvement, vocational skills, and social connections.

A strong fit for our program typically includes individuals who can participate in community-based activities for several hours at a time, engage appropriately in group settings, manage their personal hygiene needs independently, and safely participate in community outings with indirect supervision. Participants should also be open to learning through small group instruction, real-world experiences, and hands-on activities designed to support greater independence and employment readiness.

What makes CICS programs unique?

CICS is built around real growth, real experiences, and real community involvement. We help adults with developmental disabilities identify their goals and actively work toward them through hands-on learning, community engagement, and individualized support.

Our program focuses on true community integration. Participants are out in the community building skills, relationships, confidence, and independence in real-world settings. We believe people learn best by doing.

At CICS, participants have a voice and a choice in their experience. We focus on building self-advocacy, encouraging independence, and helping clients grow at their own pace while continuing to challenge them toward their goals.

The relationships we build with participants are based on respect. We are engaged, supportive, and invested in the success of the people we serve. Our goal is not to simply supervise activities, but to create meaningful experiences that help participants build confidence, independence, and a stronger connection to their community.
